Exceptional Moorish copper water-carrying vessel, dating to the 19th century. Hand-hammered from heavy-gauge copper, the vessel features a rounded globular body, reinforced rolled rim, and riveted bands near the base. Forged side ring handles were designed for transport, reflecting its original utilitarian function as a communal water carrier.

This substantial vessel displays a rich natural patina from centuries of age and use, with verdigris oxidation inside. Characteristic of North African and Moorish traditions, such vessels were prized both for their craftsmanship and their essential role in daily life.

Dimensions (approx.): 17.5h 16.75 w at rim - 20" diameter - 9" w at base

An important antique copperwork piece that embodies both utility and artistry. Today, it makes a striking decorative object — ideal as a standalone statement piece, planter, or as part of a curated collection of Moorish and Islamic art.
