A rich folk-art wall mirror in the great Mexican hojalata (tin-work) tradition — a heavy sheet-metal frame, hand-pierced, hammered, and built up with applied repoussé scrolls, flowers, leaves, and pomegranate motifs around a rectangular center mirror plate. The tin surface has aged to a deep variegated patina: pewter grays, warm coppery undertones, areas of polished silver where flowers and leaves catch the light. The composition rises into a tall foliate crest at the top and softens into curling scrolls at the corners.

Mexican tin-work belongs to a centuries-old Spanish-colonial decorative tradition descended from Andalusian silverwork, kept alive in Oaxaca, San Miguel de Allende, and Mexico City through the 19th and 20th centuries. Pieces of this scale were typically commissioned for hacienda dining rooms, church sacristies, or grand entry halls.

Reads beautifully over a low Spanish-revival console, in a Santa Fe-style entry, or in any room where Continental antiques meet folk art. The natural patina works equally well against limewashed plaster, dark stained boards, or quiet contemporary walls.

Dimensions: approximately 22" W × 34" H × 2" D
