Rrefined small mahogany round-top occasional table in the Regency / Sheraton taste — built in figured mahogany with a thumb-molded round top set above four gracefully splayed, swept legs joined by a shaped oval lower shelf. The whole has the lightness of line that defines the very best Sheraton-revival design: nothing heavier than it needs to be, every curve calculated to draw the eye outward, the timber chosen for figure rather than mass.

The Sheraton style — at the heart of late-18th-century English cabinetmaking and continually revived since — was defined by tapered legs, painted or polished surfaces, and a delicacy of proportion that suited the new neoclassical interiors of the period. Small tables of this kind were built as wine, drinks, or occasional tables — pulled in beside an armchair, set at the corner of a sofa, or used as a small writing or tea surface in a private sitting room.

Works beautifully as a drinks table beside an armchair, a small side table in a bedroom or library, an end table in a tight space, or as a plant stand in a sunroom. The small footprint and warm mahogany surface make it unusually versatile across traditional, transitional, and contemporary interiors.
