Nathan Oliveira 'Santa Fe Wing #9' 1990 Signed Stanford Centennial Print 11/100

A signed and numbered Stanford University Centennial print by Nathan Oliveira (1928–2010), reproducing his 1987 painting Santa Fe Wing Number Nine. Hand-signed by the artist in pencil, edition 11 of 100, and embossed with the official Leland Stanford Junior University seal ("Organized 1891") to authenticate the Centennial commission. Issued in 1990 to mark Stanford's 1891–1991 Centennial, this is one of the more meaningful Oliveira ephemera pieces in circulation — small edition, direct Stanford institutional connection, and Oliveira's own characteristic palette of softly luminous color.

Oliveira was one of the central figures of the Bay Area Figurative Movement alongside David Park, Elmer Bischoff, and Richard Diebenkorn — a regional break from prevailing East Coast abstract expressionism that returned the human figure to serious painting. He taught at Stanford for nearly four decades, mentoring generations of California artists. His work is held in the Cantor Arts Center, the Anderson Collection, MoMA, the Whitney, the de Young, and major institutional collections worldwide.

The poster bears Oliveira's own dedicatory text: "We must enter the 21st Century on the Wings of Our Intelligence and Our Concern for Civilization. It will never happen in this Place.
