A serious Italian wool-felt sofa by Tacchini — one of the most respected contemporary Italian design houses, known for sculptural forms, refined textiles, and a roster of designers that includes Vincent Van Duysen, Studiopepe, Jonas Wagell, and reissues of historic masters like Gianfranco Frattini. 

The form is the tell. A continuous low-back rolls into integrated track arms, the seat is built up as a single sculpted cushion with soft outline stitching delineating sculpted panels, and the whole rests on slim black square-section metal legs that float the upholstery cleanly off the floor. The upholstery is a substantial charcoal wool felt — the densely woven, slightly heathered Italian wool that reads architectural rather than residential, photographs softer than it feels in person, and wears beautifully over years rather than seasons. The piping at the front of the seat and the inset-stitched panels on the back are the kind of considered, drafted-on-paper details that distinguish working-studio Italian design from catalog reproduction.
