A handsome antique Indonesian Dutch Colonial cabinet, hand-built in solid teak (or closely related Indonesian hardwood) with two small drawers above a pair of paneled cabinet doors — the small-scale storage form that found its way into Dutch colonial homes across Java, Sumatra, and the broader Indonesian archipelago through the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The proportions are unusually graceful: substantial enough to be a real piece of case furniture, compact enough to slip into a bedside, an entry, or a tight dining room corner.
